| | So I've been growing tomatoes, bell peppers, cilantro, strawberries and
squash on my back porch / balcony. A week ago, a random cold front
blew in dipping the weather down into the upper 40's and it decimated
my plants. I haven't had an opportunity until today to take stock of
the little garden. It wasn't pretty. the majority of small branches
had all but withered away. On the positive side, the branches
containing blossoms (tomato and bell peppers) remained well in tact and
in the week since I had paid much attention, another dozen tomatoes had
begun growing. The strawberry plant and squash plants have yet to
bloom; they are still quite small. I don't feel the cilantro clusters
are big enough and numerous enough to start harvesting, but the
anticipation is growing. I'm sure your thinking that gardening is an
odd hobby to have for a person of my age, but when those fresh tasty
tomatoes, bell peppers, strawberries and squash are ready, I won't care.
